Ghirardelli
Domenico Ghirardelli was born in Rapallo, Italy, to an exotic foods importer and his wife. At a young age, Domenico was introduced to the chocolate and confectionary trade when he apprenticed with a local candy maker. In 1849 Ghirardelli sailed to America and opened a confectionary shop, Ghirardely & Girard in 1852, which eventually became the modern-day Ghirardelli Chocolate Company.

Organicville
Organicville was born in 2004, inspired by a dream to create quality organic foods available to everyone. Founder Rachel Kruse grew up eating organic dressings from recipes handed down from her grandmother. Later, as a mom herself, Rachel realized that despite being able to easily buy organic lettuce, her only option at the store was to purchase non-organic dressing; which seemed to defeat the purpose. Rachel used her grandmother’s recipes to create delicious organic dressings.
G Hughes
G Hughes (Ira “Guy” Hughes) began his journey in the small town of Braceville Ohio, where he was raised in a close-knit community with his mother and father, and three siblings. G Hughes took his family’s secret recipe for BBQ sauce and added his own “special” ingredients to create his signature product. As Guy grew older, he saw the need to create products for those that wanted to experience the sweet and savoury experience of BBQ but required sugar free. G Hughes forged a relationship with local Northeast Ohio Company, Gia Brands Inc., and produced at Summer Garden Food to formulate and create a line of sugar free products that provide all of the taste and none of the guilt.

Seventh Generation
Seventh Generation was born in the late 1980s in Burlington, VT. At the time, we were a niche mail-order catalog business that specialised in energy, water, and resource-saving products. It inspires our belief in a seventh generation to come.
